Behind the startups, inventions, installations, and constant travel is a family life Paul cares about deeply.
Elaine Linden
Paul's wife, Elaine Linden, has been the steady center of it all. A registered nurse — educated at the University of Missouri and William Jewell College — she cared for patients across the Midwest and in Texas, and raised the family through Paul's unusually demanding career of engineering, startups, inventions, and near-constant travel. Whatever Paul was building, Elaine was the foundation that made it possible.
It is fitting that Paul's most important patent, U.S. 5,136,426, was issued on August 4, 1992 — Elaine's birthday. He's proud of the coincidence, and still likes to point it out.
John and David
Paul and Elaine raised two sons, John and David — both, like their father, University of Kansas alumni.
John Linden is a video game industry executive: a studio head on Call of Duty and Skylanders at Activision Blizzard, president of Seismic Games, and founder and CEO of Mythical Games.
David Linden built his career in uniform: he served in the United States Air Force, then went into law enforcement, rising to the rank of Sergeant with the Henderson Police Department in the Las Vegas metropolitan area of Nevada.
